Can I talk to you about The Killers?

I’ve been a fan of The Killers ever since they broke onto the circuit in 2004, with the release of their debut album Hot Fuss. Here was a band who oozed cool. The lead singer Brandon Flowers wore eyeliner, dressed in a blazer and sung these gorgeous melodies over a guitar and synthesised sound. They were a big deal in both the UK and in America from the moment they released Hot Fuss. The band are from Las Vegas, Nevada which adds to their stylish- indie persona with the desert landscape proving to be the background to a lot of their music videos (Somebody told me, Bones and Human are a few examples).

The reason I love The Killers is not only because they are the soundtrack to my teenage years but because their music is exceptional. Their first album Hot Fuss is one of the few albums I can play all the way through without skipping any songs. Songs like Jenny was a friend of mine, Believe me Natalie and On Top are my favourites. However the real show stopper, the one album I’d recommend to any new listeners of The Killers, is Sam’s Town. This album presented the band as top tier in the music business. My favourite memories are listening to this album and forever will be. Favourite tracks are the lead single When We Were Young, For Reasons Unknown, The River is Wild and Bones.

I urge any new fans to watch early performances of the band and then compare them to their most recent. As a band they have polished their musical performances and grown together, with it being clear the music is important to them and they want to create top hits forevermore (or that is how I interpret it). I’ve mentioned their first two albums as my favourites, however each album has some exceptional tracks. Losing touch, My own soul’s warning and Shot at the night are just a few that are also worth your time.

If you want to give them a listen I’ll list some tracks below for you to enjoy to your hearts content.
There’s a reason there is so much hype over The Killers and it’s not just because Mr Brightside is a UK anthem. Some of my favourite tracks are their album tracks. They create the songs that will last in your memories for years to come and the sounds you won’t ever want to forget.

Thanks for reading & I hope you enjoy the music I’ve recommended.
