This week features two new songs from upcoming albums and one track that I remembered from years ago!
The first is the single ‘Never Need Me’ by Rachel Chinouriri which was released back in January. This is her second single off her upcoming album ‘What a devastating turn of events’ out on May 3rd (You can pre-order it here). She tells the story of the pain going through a breakup and wondering if you’ve done the right thing when they keep calling wanting you back.
The song is produced by indie producer Rich Turvey (Blossoms, Courtneers and The Coral). If you look closely you might spot a cameo from a particular Hollywood actor in the music video.
Rachel hasn’t announced any tour dates as of yet, but I’m hoping we won’t be waiting too long. Check out the music video below and let me know what you think!
The second song i’ve been listening to this week is ‘Slipping Away’ by Love Fame Tragedy. This is the solo project from The Wombat’s Matthew Murphy, he released his debut album back in 2020 and tomorrow will see the release of his second album ‘Life is a Killer’. This track features a dirty bass riff at the beginning, distorted guitars and Murphy’s distinctive vocals. If the album is going to be anything like this track, it’s going to be a new indie hit. I am a big Wombat’s fan and this solo project from Murphy is proving to be very exciting. He goes on tour soon, i’ve already bought myself tickets so make sure to buy yours here.
Finally one track i’ve been listening to again is AURORA ‘I went too far (MK remix)’. It’s an old one but it’s just sooooo good. Put this one on your playlist if you’re heading out this weekend.
Let me know what you have been listening to and for any new bands or artists I should check out.
