Can I Talk To You About LAUNDRY DAY?

Have you ever discovered a brand new tv show, loved the first episode then realise there are 5 seasons with 20 episodes in each season and you are ecstatic you can binge watch the whole thing? Yes? Well this is the feeling I had when I discovered New York’s latest export, the band LAUNDRY DAY who popped up on my Spotify playlist last week.
I heard their latest single “Why is everyone a DJ?” thought this is pretty good and thought I’ll check out their Youtube and Spotify page.

I was surprised to notice this band wasn’t new to the music business. LAUNDRY DAY have been creating music for over 7 years, they have 5 albums, 3 EPs (including a live session with Audiotree Live which is available on Spotify and Youtube) and they have so many fun vlogs on their Youtube channel. Did I mention they’re in their early twenties and are only just getting started on their journey to world domination? The band is made up of Sawyer (Guitar, Singer, Piano & Drums), Jude (Singer), Henry P (Bass), Henry (Guitar) and up until the beginning of this year they had Etai who played on the drums (he announced in February he’s currently taking some time away from the band but it appears there is no ill feeling between any of them when his departure has been discussed in interviews).

They have such a range of musical influences, i’d say their sound would be considered as indie-pop but they have hints of hiphop and rap intertwined into their style. LAUNDRY DAY are refreshing to the music scene, it is clear to see and hear they enjoy creating their albums and the band are hugely talented with each of the band members able to play multiple instruments. It’s not just musical talents they have either. They created their own website, selling their own merchandise, have started creating funny skits on TikTok that are going viral, made a documentary and have been on tours driving around in their van in America to get their songs out in the open.

They have played in the UK a few times already, with them playing a gig in London at the start of the year and they played Night and Day cafe in Manchester last year, so here’s hoping they’re going to do another European tour soon.

Anyway make sure you watch their videos, enjoy listening to their songs (did I mention already how many songs they’ve recorded?) and get on the hype of LAUNDRY DAY before they go stratospheric. You can check out their website here for upcoming shows and merch.
