The year is 2009, Beyonce, Katy Perry and Rihanna are a few of the international artists who feature heavily in the UK charts and we have fun pop music videos that are repeated every hour on MTV or TMF. Then suddenly all our pop diva dreams are answered when a brand new international artist, Lady Gaga, arrives and presents to us her music video for her latest single “Just Dance”. She’s wearing huge square sunglasses and has an unusual lightning sticker plastered on her cheek. The music video is fun, if a little bit different to the usual polished pop videos we’re used to watching. Lady Gaga is writhing around on a sofa and dancing with her mates to the hit song, without much of a story to the video other than she’s an artist having a really good time at a party. She appears to be the cool, rebellious, party girl and her song quickly climbs to the top of the charts.
For those who can’t remember, Lady Gaga came to fame over in the UK when she was supporting The Pussycat Dolls on their ‘Doll Domination’ tour, with Gaga’s unusually quirky outfits for that time (hardly wearing anything other than underwear whilst out for dinner and showing off her super high heels) instantly caught the eye of the paparazzi with every tabloid wanting to document about this new American singer who seems to have climbed straight to the top of the charts. At that time we hadn’t really seen a pop star wear such provocative clothes since Madonna and Lady Gaga began to incorporate her outfits from her music videos to her appearances at MTV Music Videos. She was unpredictable which made it exciting as a music fan to watch what she was going to do next artistically.
One of the many reasons I love Lady Gaga are for her exceptional music videos. I used to love when she would premiere her new music video on MTV and they would be over 5 minutes long. They would tell a story and it presented her songs visually in a way you imagined Gaga wanted them to be.
“When I look back on my life, it’s not that I don’t want to see things exactly as they happened. It’s just that I prefer to remember them in an artistic way“
These are the opening lines from Gaga’s music video to “Marry The Night” which is a whole 13minutes and 50 seconds long. I wanted to dedicate a whole post to these music videos as I think they need their own recognition of being iconic and created the excitement of when an artist released new music that I miss so much these days.
So here are my top 10 favourite Lady Gaga music videos, expect lots of nudity, exceptional dance routines, AMAZING outfits that were ahead of the time, a few celeb cameos and a reminder that Gaga was refreshing and iconic when it came to making a brilliant music video.
A word of warning, 8 out of 10 of these tracks are over 5 minutes long so I suggest you enjoy divulging in some iconic Gaga for the next hour and shut off from the rest of the world whilst you immerse yourself with Mother Monster.
So here are my top 10 Lady Gaga music videos, starting with number 10 all the way to my favourite at number 1. Make sure to comment below which Lady Gaga is your favourite and why!

5. Lady Gaga- Telephone feat Beyoncé. Of course this one had to be in the top 5, the iconic cola cans in the hair, the dance routine and Beyonce all contribute to making this brilliant music video that every Gaga and Beyonce fan will recognise.
