Oh hello 2025. I allowed myself to defrost in January and now the music scene is starting to pick up a gear I am back to tell you what I am listening to this week! There are some HITS ready to be played forever and ever this summer so let’s see who my contenders are.
Make sure to comment below what tracks you have been listening to.
Caity Baser is back with new music. ‘Watch That Girl (She’s Gonna Say It) has a catchy chorus with a belting brass band. Caity’s fun lyrics and sassy vocals are guaranteed to get you singing along.
This song makes me so EXCITED for music in 2025. It’s the electric guitar with the funky melodies, the fierce vocals from Lisa, Doja Cat and RAYE with RAYE’s signature sound in the final verse ringing through both headphones, the harmonies blaring. This song is a groove. Put it on high volume and strut you way through your kitchen as you play it.
2025 is Antony Szmierek’s year. He’s about to release his debut album “Service Station At The End of The Universe” in a couple of weeks, but for now we have his latest single “Angie’s Wedding”. The music video is reminiscent of 90’s,the song iss poetic and reflective. I find myself picturing the working men’s club with Angie getting married and the other punters who visit. The song is a belter and is going to be your soundtrack of the summer.
I was always going to love a song called “21st Century Cool Girl”. I love the repetitive piano chords, the bridge and the beat kicking in during the chorus. With lyrics such as “I’ll be your 21st century cool girl/ Baby I’ll forever be tragically insecure/ But if you’re ready to love me then I’m all yours” I have had this song on repeat.
IDER are new on my radar and I am OBSESSED. So obsessed I bought tickets to see them live right away (there aren’t many tickets left so make sure to get them quick!). Their album is out very soon and I think we are going to see IDER hit a very big audience this year with it’s release so get yourself acquainted with their music catalogue as you’ll be hearing more of them in this year.
Djo was one of the many artists who shot straight into the mainstream thanks to their music going viral on TikTok. Yes we know the lead singer Joe Keery from Stranger Things, however his music venture had up until last year remained pretty low key. Now he’s back releasing new music and “Basic Being Basic” is a cool indie hit. I love the distortorted electronic chords, the drum beats and the 80’s vibes.
