Glastonbury 2024

Glastonbury has finally arrived and sadly i’m not going but if I was, here are the acts I would have gone to see!

Kate Nash
Her new album “9 Sad Symphonies” was released this week and it’s beautiful. I love the whole album, it’s got so many brilliant songs and this is Kate Nash showing the music industry she is back with her exquisite tracks. She’s playing the Avalon stage on Friday at 9:35pm.

Antony Szmierek
I discovered Antony on TikTok where he created a video explaining the struggles of independent artists and another funny video about festival lineups spelling his name wrong. Aside from his TikToks Antony is getting lots of recognition for his music, his spoken-word tracks are catchy and fun but with deep meaningful lyrics intertwined with the upbeat tempos. He’s playing the BBC Music Introducing stage on Sunday at 5:30pm make sure to go and see his set!

Rachel Chinouriri
Of course I had to mention Rachel Chinouriri, after the release of her album “What A Devastating Turn Of Events”. She’s playing the Other Stage at Glastonbury. I saw Rachel play live earlier this year and she’s a brilliant performer, she engages with the crowd and is sure to deliver a set of deliciously addictive pop tunes! She’s playing The Other Stage on Sunday at 12:30pm.

Chloe Slater
Chloe Slater sound has such a nostalgic 90s guitar indie feel, it’s very exciting to hear her music. Her music video for ‘Price Of Fun’ fits into her 90s sound with her walking around Manchester with a grainy video camera reminiscent of the music videos back in that era. It’s a superb tune and I’m really excited to hear more from her, she released her EP “You Can’t Put A Price On Fun” in May of this year, so expect her to play some of her tracks at her Glasto appearance. Catch Chloe on the BBC Music Introducing stage on Friday at 6:30pm.

Lambrini Girls
✨Yassssss✨ to women doing punk. This three-piece are relatively new, they released their first single on Spotify in 2022, but are already playing four sets at Glasto this year. Their singles are political, honest and I can guarantee these are going to be brilliant to see live. By the time this blog is posted they’ll have played one gig already, so make sure to see them Thursday on the Peace Stage at 10:15pm, Friday at Woodsies 12:45pm and then Saturday at Strummerville at 10pm.

Romy
I’m a big The xx fan and with it i’ve become a fan of Romy’s music. Her sounds are spine-tingling and mesmerising. Her latest single “Always Forever” is a favourite on my playlists at the moment and her set at the Boiler Room on Youtube is a great watch. Make sure to catch her at Glasto on Friday playing a Dj set at The Levels 4pm-6pm and on Sunday at Woodsies 8pm.

Cyndi Lauper
Ok I know this artist isn’t really a new artist as such but it’s THE Cyndi Lauper. Everyone is hyping up for Shania Twain to play the legends slot on the Sunday but I think everyone is forgetting Cyndi is playing the Pyramid Stage on Saturday at 2:30pm and she is one i’ll definitely be watching on the tv. I can’t wait to see the crowd all singing “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”. It’ll be ✨iconic✨.

There are obviously lots more I could write about on here, but i’m going to be listening to the radio and watching iplayer to catch as much coverage as I can as it’s going to be a great weekend and i’m very jealous of everyone at Glastonbury this year!

Let me know which acts you think I should give a listen to or who you wish you could see this weekend!

I would have to be in two places at once to fit in Shania Twain, Olivia Dean, Pillow Queens, English Teacher, Lucy Spraggan, Tanita Tikaram, and Billy Bragg. Plus I’d spend the rest of my time doing yoga, queueing for food and the toilets!!!! 🤣🤣
