What I’m Listening To This Week

Oh hey!
Here are the tracks I’m loving this week. Let’s get into it:

Wolf Alice – Bloom Baby Bloom
Wolf Alice are back with their first taste of new music since their album “Blue Weekend” and it’s been a long four years without hearing some new tunes from them, but they have sure enough made up for it with their new track. Produced by Greg Kurstin (He co-wrote ‘Hello’, ‘Easy On Me’, ‘Oh My God’ with Adele, he co-wrote the album ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’ by Lily Allen and he recently co-wrote ‘Ego’ with Halsey… I could go on) the band are working with some big timers in the music industry. The music video is pretty cool too, choreographed by Ryan Heffington (he choreographed the Chandelier music video for Sia) it seems the band are going in with a strong start to releasing new music. Enjoy the familiar harmonies of a Wolf Alice tune, the piano riff at the beginning, the crescendo punk bridge with the unleash of a beautiful harmonious chorus and just think – if the first single is already this good, what will the album sound like? Exciting times ahead.

CMAT- Take A Sexy Picture Of Me
Ok this isn’t a new track as it’s been out for a few weeks now but it is on repeat and I can’t get it out of my head so let me tell you why.
I love CMAT for her deep , meaningful lyrics but entangled in a fun, sexy beat. It’s like I want to cry her songs out loud whilst also taking a slut drop. It’s hard to explain unless you hear her tracks, so go on enjoy the song above. I’m very excited for her album released later this year (which you can pre-order here) and for all her festival sets this summer (she’s playing Glastonbury, Ormivera sound, Truck festival, Tramlines, Way Out West, Green Man) to name a few along with her own tour later this year. She’s definitely one to go and see (I know I’ve already booked my tickets).

Audrey HobertSue Me
This song came up on my Youtube page and I have to admit the beginning of the music video and track got me HOOKED. It’s the chaotic energy, the over the top dancing that I wish I could even give HALF of what she performs at every wedding I attend and then it’s the lyrics. AGAIN I am a sucker for a good pop song with some sick pop lyrics to send my pop heart into over-drive. It’s a song about a break up but blurring those lines of going back and forth, whilst still breaking their heart. It’s fun, it’s catchy, it’s fast. Audrey is best known for her song-writing with Gracie Abrams (she co-wrote the hit ‘That’s So True) and now she is making her own mark in the pop universe. She’s definitely one to keep an eye out for.

Sombr- Undressed
I have quite a few Sombr songs in my playlist at the moment (‘back to friends’ and ‘makes me want you’ are heavily on repeat) but ‘Undressed’ is their latest offering and it’s already proving popular with music fans (his upcoming shows in the UK have already sold out). ‘Undressed’ has those lyrics you can’t get out of your mind singing the lyrics:

I look across the tracks to see you with another / There’s nothing worse than seeing your lover moving on while you still suffer

There are some more heart wrenching lyrics featured in the track, all sang harmoniously over the sexy bass-line that rings throughout. The more I listen to sombr, the more I wish I had a heartbreak summer so I could post their gut-wrenching lyrics on an instagram caption (if my partner is reading this I’ am slightly joking). Anyway my words don’t do this track justice so go and stick it on and sing your bloody heart out.

So there are four tracks to get your week started, let me know which ones you enjoy and what tracks you think I should be listening to this summer by commenting below!
Until next time,

Beth x
