Hey, it’s been a bit too long since I’ve written on here and now I’m back finally to discuss my favourite tracks. I find as Autumn arrives and the darker nights and rainier days become more frequent there is no better time than now to discover new artists or songs to get you through the new season.
I hope you discover a new song to add to your playlist and make sure to let me know in the comments what you’re listening to below!
Ravyn Lenae – Saturday Night
I’ve only recently discovered Ravyn Lenae as an artist and the song “Saturday Night” has me obsessed. The lyrics just hit, it’s a song which tells a story about seeing your situationship at the club and making sure you’re not going home with them anymore and finally getting that closure from them. Layer this broken love story over a garage style beat and vocal harmonies, then you’ve got this gorgeous pop track that I cannot stop playing on repeat. Please give it a listen.
Bea- Safety Net
I discovered Bea after her song “Rich” appeared in Off Campus this summer and I discovered her discography. This song was released last year but I love the delicacy of the strings, piano and the vocal harmonies mixed with the sassy lyrics:
“I got bored of waiting for you to get your shit together/ you really thought I’d be at your beck and call forever”
I’m definitely going to be delving into more of her tracks this season.
Ariana Grande – kiss me
“kiss me” is Ariana Grande’s first track on her new album “Petal”. I love listening to opening tracks of an album as this is what an artist wants us to listen to first. What kind of story will this album bring? Have they introduced a new sound? Is it upbeat? Sad?
For me this is one of my favourite pop songs of 2026 for sure. It’s such an upbeat song, with fast energy, the gorgeous vocals of Ariana and again poignant lyrics making it an instant classic Ariana hit song. I like the distorted sound at the beginning of this track, it starts with a gentle synth mash up of her vocals which if your volume is down low you won’t here it before going into the stark distorted chords which then abruptly stops and the track gets into the first verse. She’s written this song with her long time collaborator Ilya Salmanzadeh and I think it’s a perfect track to welcome fans to her new music.
Brandy- Afrodisiac
I know this is a throwback but what a throwback it is! I LOVE when I rediscover an old hit I loved growing up. I stumbled across this track again when Cynthia Erivo shared her London Marathon playlist and I saw this was on it (do I run? No, but do I love seeing peoples running playlist to try and inspire me to run? Absolutley.) Anyway enjoy listening and rediscovering Brandy!
Charli xcx- Camera
I am loving Charli xcx’s sound post “brat” album. It was hard for her to follow such a huge album which saw Charli gain so many new followers and after a huge worldwide tour (and festival sets including Glastonbury) which gained a lot of social media coverage with the iconic visuals and dance routines (I’m so glad we’ve finished dancing to “Apple”) it came such a huge pressure to keep fans engaged and interested in her sound.
For me the “Wuthering Heights” album and now “Music, Fashion, Film” have shown Charli xcx hasn’t stopped creating great pop music albeit with a different sound compared to “brat”. “Camera” has been my favourite track so far, I love the incorporation of guitar sounds mixed with the dance beats along with singing about turning 34 and contemplating her artistry. The music video is iconic too, featuring actor Vincent Cassell and directed by Aidan Zamiri, I love how it’s taken in one shot and the acting is in time with the music perfectly. Charli xcx has shown she is still on top of her game and isn’t going anywhere.
That’s it for this week but let me know below what music you are listening to on repeat this Autumn, thanks for reading.
Beth x
